Pilaf With Chicken (Tavuklu Pilav)


  • 1 small cup of rice
  • 1 tablespoon of grated cheddar or kashar (kasar) cheese
  • 2 small cups of water
  • one 120 gram chicken breast
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 small grated onion
  • a pinch of sweet basil
  • 3 or 4 spring onions


Cut the chicken breasts into slices and boil them. Put the rice in a saucepan and boil with 2 cups of water until water is absorbed. Strain the chicken, put it in a saucepan with onions, garlic and basil and fry for 10 minutes. Add the rice and fry for 3 minutes, Add the cheese and serve.
