Roast Lamb Shoulder – (Koyun Budu)

Ingredients

  • 750 gm lamb (5 pieces on the bone)
  • 8 tblsp butter
  • 2 onions
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

Directions

Brown the pieces of meat in the butter for 5 minutes, and place in a saucepan.
Coarsely chop the onions and fry until light brown in the butter in which the meat was browned. Add salt, pepper and 1 cup of water and boil for 5 minutes. Pour over the meat.
Cover the saucepan and simmer for 1 hour until the meat is tender, adding extra hot water if necessary.
Serve with fried potatoes.
