Balik Bugulama (Steamed Fish Stew)

  • 1 kg fish (any of choice of fillets)
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 50 ml water
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • chopped parsley


1- Clean fish and cut into small pieces. Place pieces in a large pan.
2- Add water, salt, and garlic pieces. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes on medium heat.
3- Remove from heat and allow to cool for 5-10 minutes.
4- Spoon stew into bowls. Melt margarine and drizzle over bowls. Sprinkle with parsley. Serve with crusty bread.
