Sirke Tatlisi (Vinegar Dessert)


  • 30 gr. vinegar
  • 25 gr. olive oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup of olive oil for frying


Sift flour into a bowl. Make a hole in the middle bye hand. Add egg, vinegar, olive oil and baking powder. Work into a dough. Knead well and form walnut-sized balls, then fry in hot olive oil.
In another saucepan, place sugar and water, cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolved. Drop the browned balls into syrup and leave until they absorb the syrup. Serve with cream when cool.
