Firinda Pilicli Bezelye – Oven Cooked Chicken with Peas

  • 1 whole chicken
  • 600 grams peas
  • 10 baby onions
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 tablesponn tomato paste
  • 2 large tomatoes, peeled and diced
  • 8 cups water
  • salt


1- Wash chicken well and place in large pan . Add water and allow to lighlty boil. Skim water of fat and small pieces of flesh.
2- In a separate pan, add oil, tomato paste and tomatoes and cook until tomatoes are softened.
3- Remove chicken from water and cut into large pieces. Place in large baking dish.
4- Add tomato mixture

, baby onions, peas and enough water (used to boil chicken in) to cover chicken pieces and peas. Add salt to taste.
5- Place slivers of green pepper, if desired, on top and cook in medium hot oven until chicken browns.
