Fava (Fava Bean Salad)


  • 1 cups dried broad beans
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • Fresh dill


Serving Size: 8
Preparation Time: about 2 hours

a) Put 2 cups of cold water and ½ cup of olive oil and salt in a pan and let it boil
b) Add the broad beans and boil until the beans are soft
c) Take off the heat and pour excess water if any left
d) Puree in blender
e) Mince the fresh dill
f) Add 1/3 cup olive oil with the minced dill to the puree and mix well
g) Put in a round bowl or a serving platter where you can give the shape you want or you can even put it in a small baking round pan and let it cool (it is served in a rectangular shape in Turkiye)
h) Before you serve put on top un-minced dill and 1 tablespoon olive oil
